Dancing｜CCDC - Awards for Outstanding Achievement
Soledad won 3 awards at Hong Kong Dance AwardsThe 18th Hong Kong Dance Awards and Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2015 Presentation Ceremony were held this month. Both awards were presented to artists of different art forms in recognition of their generous, continual support and contribution to the arts and dance development in Hong Kong. CCDC’s 2015 production Soledad directed and choreographed by Helen Lai with Peter Suart as composer and set designer, won Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Ensemble Performance and Outstanding Production at the Hong Kong Dance Awards. Meanwhile, Helen Lai’s contribution to dance was affirmed by the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2015 with the Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts. Statement of the Jury:

City Contemporary Dance Laureate (CCDL)The City Contemporary Dance Laureate (CCDL) is newly established by CCDC this year to recognise those who have made significant contributions to contemporary dance in Hong Kong in the past year through creating projects or activities with strong impact on the field, supporting the sustainable development of contemporary dance as an art form. The first CCDL consists of three prizes and the award recipients are art administrator and producer Ms . Anna Chan, cultural critic Lok Fung (Dr . Natalia Chan) and lighting designer Mr . Lee Chi-wai. Each of them has been working diligently on the promotion, creation and development of Hong Kong contemporary dance.
